Dhaka Abahani faces FIFA ban

Within a week after Mohammedan, Dhaka Abahani has also been subjected to a FIFA transfer ban. FIFA imposed the restriction on the club’s player registration on November 3.

It is believed that a foreign footballer or coach whose contract was terminated lodged a complaint for unpaid dues.

Earlier, Fakirerpool returned to play after lifting their ban, while Bashundhara Kings currently face five bans and Mohammedan was recently penalised by FIFA.

At present, a total of 11 files from Bangladesh are under FIFA restrictions—among them five belong to Bashundhara Kings, three to Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi, and one each to Mohammedan, Abahani and Feni Soccer Club.
