Dhaka may get light rain, no relief from temperature

The Bangladesh Meteorological Department has forecast light rain or thundershowers in Dhaka and its adjoining areas on Sunday, while the day’s temperature is likely to remain largely unchanged.

According to the weather forecast issued for the six hours from 7am, the capital may experience partly cloudy to temporarily cloudy skies, with chances of light rain or thundershowers at times.

Winds may blow from the south and southwest at a speed of 10 to 15 kilometres per hour, the department said.

Dhaka recorded a minimum temperature of 27.4°C at 6am, with relative humidity at 91 per cent. The capital received 4mm of rainfall in the 24 hours preceding the morning.

Meanwhile, temperatures across other parts of the country may fall slightly during both day and night due to rainfall.

Sunset in Dhaka is expected at 6:25pm on Sunday, while sunrise will be at 5:37am on Monday.
