Dhaka records 63mm rain in 24 hrs, weather likely to remain dry today

Dhaka recorded 63 millimeters of rainfall in the past 24 hours, categorized as “heavy rain,” according to the Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD). However, the weather is expected to remain mostly dry throughout Sunday.

As of 7.00am Sunday (November 2), the highest temperature in Dhaka on Saturday was 33°C, while the day’s lowest was 24.5°C.

The six-hour forecast from 7.00am indicates partly cloudy skies with mainly dry conditions. Winds from the north and northwest may blow at 5–10 km per hour.

At 6.00am, Dhaka’s temperature was recorded at 24.6°C with 95% humidity. Sunset is expected at 5:19pm, and sunrise tomorrow at 6:06am.

Meanwhile, the countrywide forecast issued Saturday night said light to moderate rain or thundershowers may occur at many places in Rajshahi, Dhaka, Mymensingh, Khulna, and Sylhet divisions, and at a few places in Rangpur, Barishal, and Chattogram divisions by 6.00pm Sunday. Some areas may experience moderately heavy to heavy rainfall.

Daytime temperatures are likely to remain nearly unchanged, while nighttime temperatures may drop slightly, the forecast added.
