DJ Sonika contracts Hepatitis A virus

With the mourning over the untimely death of popular content creator and actress Kareena Kaiser, another piece of bad news has come to the showbiz arena. This time, the country's popular DJ star Sonika has been infected with the deadly disease 'Hepatitis A' virus. She is currently undergoing treatment at York Hospital in Banani, the capital.

Sonika informed her fans about her illness by posting a picture of herself lying in a hospital bed on social media on Monday night (May 18). In the caption, she wrote, 'This is my home for the next few days.'

Since her post, fans and colleagues in the showbiz arena have been expressing deep concern and wishing her a speedy recovery. Recently, actress Kareena Kaiser died of liver failure due to the same virus. Therefore, the news of Sonika's illness has created additional anxiety among fans.

It is worth noting that Sonika, who started her career as a professional DJ in 2007, quickly established herself in the country's music scene. She caught international attention by performing at the opening ceremony of the ICC Cricket World Cup in 2011.
