DMP to act against unauthorised gatherings after schedule announcement

The interim government has urged all parties to refrain from unlawful or unauthorised rallies and gatherings after the announcement of the schedule for the 13th national election. The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has warned that legal action will follow if the directive is violated.

This was stated in a press release sent from the media and public relations wing of DMP on Wednesday.

The press release said DMP commissioner Sheikh Md Sajjat Ali issued the instruction.

It further stated that necessary legal measures will be taken against individuals who violate the order. The DMP also sought cooperation from Dhaka residents on the matter.
