DMP traffic instructions on the occasion of Ashura

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Traffic-Lalbagh Division has issued special traffic instructions to ensure a smooth, peaceful and uninterrupted procession from the capital's traditional Hosni Dalan Imambara to the holy site of Ashura. This information was given in a DMP notification on Tuesday (June 23).

The notification said that from 7:30 pm today, Thursday until the end of the Tazia procession (approximately 10:30 pm), the following roads in Lalbagh division will be temporarily restricted and closed:

North Gate of Hosni Dalan Imambara → Hosni Dalan Intersection → Bakshi Bazar Intersection → Bakshi Bazar (Kal Par) Intersection → Nal Umesh Dao Road → New Road of Prison Headquarters → Shahi Mosque Intersection in front of Chowk Bazar Police Station → Chowk Bazar Model Police Station Intersection → Chowk-Circular Road → Chowk Bazar Shahi Mosque → Noorani Cold Drinks → Begum Bazar Road → Nazimuddin Road → Chankharpul/Nimtali Crossing → Return to Hosaini Dalan Imambara via Hosaini Dalan Road.

From 2:00 am on June 25 until the end of the Tazia procession (approximately 4:00 am), the following roads in Lalbagh division will be temporarily closed and restricted:

Hosni Dalan Imambara → Chankharpul/Nimtali Crossing → Nazimuddin Road → Jail Road → Haji Selim Tower Road → Chowk-Circular Road → Chowk Bazar Model Thana Intersection → Chowk Bazar → Shahi Masjid Intersection in front of the police station → Prison Headquarters New Road → Umesh Dao Road → Bakshi Bazar (Kol Par) Intersection → Bakshi Bazar Lane → Return to Hosaini Dalan Imambara at 4:00 am.

At the same time, from 10 am Friday until the end of the Tazia procession (approximately 2:30 pm), the following roads in Lalbagh division will be temporarily restricted and closed:

Hosni Dalan Imambara → Hosni Dalan Road → Bakshi Bazar Lane → Alia Madrasa Intersection → Bakshi Bazar (Kal Par) Intersection → Umesh Dao Road → Urdu Road Intersection → Harnath Ghosh Road → Lalbagh Chowrasta Intersection → Gor-e-Shaheed Mazar Intersection → Ethimkhana Intersection → Azimpur Chowrasta Intersection → Eden College → New Market Intersection → Mirpur Road → Dhaka College → Science Lab Intersection → Dhanmondi Residential Area Road No. 2 → BGB Gate No. 4 → Sat Masjid Road → Jhigatola Dhanmondi Lake (Karbala) Bus Stand.

Traffic-Lalbagh Division is also requesting respected city residents and motorists to use alternative roads and follow the instructions of the traffic police at this time.
