Do not be misled by propaganda, vote fearlessly: Jamaat ameer

Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Dr Shafiqur Rahman has called on people across the country not to be misled by propaganda surrounding the upcoming 13th national election and to exercise their voting rights fearlessly.

He made the appeal in a post on his verified Facebook page on Wednesday, February 11. The Jamaat ameer alleged that a particular group is deliberately spreading disinformation for political purposes.

Dr Shafiqur Rahman said, “When the nation is preparing for a free, neutral and acceptable election, a certain group, frightened by Jamaat’s growing popularity and public support, is spreading misinformation.”

He noted that such efforts are mainly aimed at confusing voters and urged citizens not to attach any importance to these propaganda campaigns.

Emphasising active voter participation in the democratic process, Shafiqur Rahman said, “Voting is your right and a sacred responsibility. Cast your vote for the candidate and symbol of your choice. That is what the entire nation expects.”

He also advised people to remain vigilant to help maintain an environment conducive to a free and fair election. Concluding his post, he sought the help of Almighty Allah and expressed deep solidarity with the people of the country.
