Dominican Republic’s Joheiry Mola crowned Miss World 2026

Joheiry Mola Dominguez of the Dominican Republic has been crowned Miss World 2026, beating 110 other contestants at the pageant’s grand final in Nha Trang, Vietnam.

The 111 contestants competed across a series of challenges before Mola emerged as the winner on Saturday night (September 6). She was crowned with the pageant’s traditional blue crown by outgoing Miss World Opal Suchata Chuangsri of Thailand.

Mola earned her place on the global stage after being crowned Miss World Dominican Republic 2025. A familiar face in fashion and modelling, she also works as a teacher, journalist and social activist.

Elisabeth Raines of Spain finished as first runner-up, while Tanusya Shetty of Malaysia was named second runner-up.

Contestants from Africa, the Americas and Caribbean, Europe, and Asia and Oceania took part in this year’s competition. The field was gradually narrowed from 111 contestants to the top 40, followed by the top 20 and top 12, before six finalists advanced to the final stage.

Founded in the United Kingdom by Eric Morley in 1951, Miss World is one of the world’s oldest and most prestigious international beauty pageants. Contestants are judged not only on appearance but also through a series of challenges, personality assessments and on-stage questions testing their confidence and intellect.
