Don't advise me on my life', Badhon hits back at critics

Actress Azmeri Haque Badhon has responded to criticism on social media following the announcement of her role in the film 'Gulshan's Chameli'. She said critics should spend their valuable time elsewhere instead of offering unsolicited advice on her personal decisions.

Badhon shared her stance in a lengthy post on her verified Facebook account on Sunday (August 2). She said the decision to act in 'Gulshan's Chameli' was not easy, but the film's story and the respect and cooperation she received from the entire team encouraged her to take on the role.

She wrote, "Agreeing to work in this film was a very difficult decision for me. But I really liked the story. And the respect and cooperation I have received from the entire team so far, I sincerely appreciate that."

Reflecting on her long acting career, Badhon said she has gained both good and difficult experiences working with various directors and productions, but every experience has made her more mature and stronger.

She added, "I am grateful for everything I have received in life and for the countless blessings Allah has given me. Every experience has made me stronger."

Addressing her critics in the final part of the post, Badhon made it clear that no one else carries her responsibilities or lives her life, so she urged them not to offer unsolicited advice on her personal decisions.

She said, "No one comes and pays my bills or lives my life. So please don't waste your valuable time advising me on my decisions. There are people in my life whose advice I trust, respect and listen to."

Badhon's involvement in director Mohammad Iqbal's new film 'Gulshan's Chameli' was recently announced. Since then, many on social media have questioned why she chose to work in a commercial film after critically acclaimed performances in 'Rehana Maryam Noor' and 'The Difficult Bride'.

It may be noted that alongside Badhon, the film also features Kolkata actress Madhumita Sarkar, Omar Sani, Misha Sawdagor, Rozina, Amin Khan, Ashish Khandaker and others.
