Don't put political colour on me: Prosenjit
When the political arena was in a frenzy after the results of the recent elections in West Bengal, India, popular Tollywood actor Prosenjit Chatterjee came into the discussion. He clearly denied the political speculations surrounding him.
In a post on social media after the vote counting, he said, "I have been acting with respect for a long time and I want to continue doing that work in the future. Request - don't put any political color on me."
He explained that the confusion was created around a recent phone conversation. It was a completely personal communication, which has nothing to do with politics. I didn't call anyone; my younger brother called. I blessed him as an elder - that's normal.
The controversy originally started after BJP candidate Rudranil Ghosh won from Shivpur constituency. He himself informed Prosenjit of his victory. After that conversation became public, many people started to think that the actor might be joining politics.
However, Prosenjit said that these rumors are completely baseless.
Meanwhile, rumors about his family were also circulating on social media before the elections. In particular, a Facebook post in the name of his son Trishanjit Chatterjee went viral, where a picture with Union Minister of State Sukanta Majumdar was seen.
Prosenjit immediately said that it was not his son's real account, but a post spread from a fake profile.
