Draft voter list of the BCB Board of Directors Election announced

Elections to the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) board of directors will be held on October 6. The Election Commission released the draft list of councilors or voters on Tuesday (September 23). Some names out of the 177 councilor posts have not yet been finalized.

The published list includes several former captains and cricketers. Current BCB president Aminul Islam Bulbul has become the councilor of the Dhaka Divisional Sports Association. Former president Faruk Ahmed has been nominated from Rangers Cricket Academy. Another former captain Tamim Iqbal has become a councilor from Old DOHS Sports Club.

Apart from Dhaka, councilors have become from six divisional sports associations of the country - Ahsan Iqbal Chowdhury (Chittagong), Md. Hasibul Alam (Rajshahi), Md. Hasanuzzaman (Rangpur), Khan Abdur Razzak (Khulna), Md. Nannu Mia (Barisal) and Rahat Shams (Sylhet). Nazmul Abedin Fahim has been nominated from Dhaka District Sports Association.

Many voters have also nominated from 12 clubs in the Premier Division. Notable among them are Sheikh Bashir Ahmed of Abahani, Masuduzzaman of Mohammedan, Md. Rafiqul Islam of Gazi Group, Md. Lutfar Rahman of Legends of Rupganj, Md. Anwarul Islam of Agrani Bank, Tanzil Chowdhury of Prime Bank, Istiak Sadek of Dhanmondi Sports Club, Adnan Rahman Dipan of Rupganj Tigers, Ishraq Hossain of Brothers Union, Aziz and Kaiser Tito of Partex and Asif Rabbani of Shinepukur.

Apart from this, Fahim Sinha (Surya Tarun Club), Rafiqul Islam Babu (Indira Road Krira Chakra), Manjur Alam (Regular Sporting Club) have made it to the list from divisional level clubs. Among the various sports organizations, Md. Sanwar Hossain from Biman Bangladesh Airlines and Debabrata Pal from Jahangirnagar University have become voters.

Salim Shahed has been nominated from the National Sports Council (NSC). Renowned female umpire Sathira Zakir Jessy is also in the voter list. Javed Omar Belim, Minhajul Abedin Nannu, Ehsanul Haque, Mohammad Ali Khan, Khaled Masud Pilot, Niyamur Rashid Rahul, Hasanuzzaman, Hasibul Hossain Shanto, Mushfiqur Rahman and Mahmudul Hasan have been included in the former cricketer quota.

In addition, the former captains nominated by the BCB president include Gazi Ashraf Hossain Lipu, Mohammad Shafiqul Haque, Rakibul Hasan, Mohammad Ashraful and Habibul Bashar. And popular singer Asif Akbar has been included as a voter from the Comilla District Sports Association.
