Driver burnt alive as bus set on fire in Mymensingh

A driver has died alive after miscreants set fire to a bus in Fulbaria upazila of Mymensingh.

The incident took place around 3:15am in the Balukjan area of the upazila on early Tuesday (November 11).

The deceased has been identified as Julhas Mia, 35.

According to police, the bus, belonging to Alam Asia Paribahan, was parked by the roadside when unidentified assailants set it ablaze. The fire quickly engulfed the entire vehicle, trapping driver Julhas inside. He died on the spot.

Rokonuzzaman, officer-in-charge (OC) of Fulbaria Police Station, said, "The body has been recovered and taken to the police station."

"Efforts are underway to identify and arrest those responsible for the arson," he added.
