EC grants registration to 81 observer organisations
The Election Commission has finally registered 81 domestic organisations as election observers in two phases for the upcoming thirteenth parliamentary polls.
The information was shared on Monday, December 8, by the EC public relations wing.
On September 28, the Election Commission issued a notice outlining a preliminary list of 73 local organisations willing to observe the national election. Claims, objections and complaints regarding these organisations were to be submitted in writing to the EC secretary by October 20, along with supporting evidence.
After resolving objections, the EC granted final approval in the first phase to 66 domestic observer organisations. These 66 organisations were registered from November 6, this year, to November 5, 2030.
In the second phase, after further scrutiny, another 15 organisations received final approval. These organisations have been granted registration from December 4, this year, to December 3, 2030, for a five-year term.
The EC is preparing to hold voting for the thirteenth parliamentary election in the first half of next February.
