EC to launch ‘Postal Vote BD’ app for overseas voters tomorrow

The Election Commission (EC) will officially launch the out-of-country voting app ‘Postal Vote BD’ for Bangladeshi expatriates tomorrow evening.

Election Commissioner Brigadier General (Retd.) Abul Fazal Muhammad Sanaullah made the announcement during the third-day dialogue with registered political parties at the EC Secretariat in the capital's Agargaon on Monday (November 17).

The app will allow overseas Bangladeshis to register for voting ahead of the 13th national parliamentary elections.

EC officials said the launch will take place at 6:00pm at the EC auditorium, coordinated with global time zones.

With an estimated 14 million expatriate voters—about 7–8% of the total population—the EC expects significant participation. Political parties have been urged to encourage their overseas supporters to register through the app.
