Ecnec approves 10 development projects worth Tk 3,890 crore
The Executive Committee of the National Economic Council has approved 10 development projects at an estimated cost of approximately Tk 3,890.97 crore.
The approval was given at an Ecnec meeting chaired by Prime Minister Tarique Rahman at the Secretariat on Tuesday morning, June 9.
Among the 10 approved projects, five are new, three are revised, and the tenure of two projects has been extended. The approved projects include the maintenance and rehabilitation of the Barishal Irrigation Project, construction of integrated upazila land complexes, construction of a city building for Mymensingh City Corporation, widening of the Anwara-Banshkhali-Chakaria regional highway, and installation of lifts in circuit houses across 33 districts and the Thakurgaon District Administrator's office.
Also approved are the expansion of Bangladesh Children's Hospital and Institute (second phase), construction of a cancer centre at Dhaka CMH (second phase), and the installation of multimedia classrooms in 653 madrasas across the country.
Of the total project costs, Tk 3,810.62 crore will be funded from the government's own resources.
