Emirates suspends all flights from Dubai indefinitely

Dubai-based airline Emirates has announced the indefinite suspension of all its flight operations due to the ongoing war situation in the Middle East.

In an emergency message on Saturday, March 7, the airline authorities stated that no flights will depart from Dubai and no flights will land there until further notice.

This strict decision has been taken in the interest of security following the sound of massive explosions at Dubai airport. Emirates authorities have specially urged passengers not to proceed to the airport under the current circumstances.

In a statement posted on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), Emirates said that the safety of passengers and crew is their highest priority and no compromise will be made on this matter. Thanking passengers for their patience in the situation, the organisation stated that the situation is being monitored and further updates will be provided in due course.

The international airline was forced to take such an unprecedented step as security risks at Dubai airport increased due to the Iran-Israel war. As a result, thousands of international passengers are stranded at various destinations, causing major disruption to global air connectivity.

Emirates has announced special re-booking and refund facilities for affected passengers. Passengers with travel bookings between February 28 and March 31 can change their travel dates without any additional cost.
