37 teen gang members arrested in capital

Members of Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) have arrested 37 suspected members of teen gang, locally called 'Kishor Gang', in the capital and its surrounding areas.

The arrestees were identified as members of different groups including Kishor Gang-007 Group, Baba Group, Jaura Group, D Company and Jahangir Group.

The arrested are Rasell ,17, Arafat ,17, Rabin ,15, Al-Amin ,24, Islam ,29, Jewel ,22, Rabiul ,16, Murad ,17, Mahabub ,19, Saad ,22, Rohan ,22, Mona ,28, Hriday ,20, Obayed ,18, Md Zisan ,19, Md Akash ,30, Md Emon ,20, Md Ramzan ,21, Md Sajib 18, Md Shakib ,22, Md Rajib ,19, Md Amir Hossain ,36, Shahjahan Saju alias Russell ,45, Md Zilad Miah ,20, Md Hriday ,19, A Raihan ,15, Md Babu Miah ,22, Md Shahjahan,21, Md Jalal Miah ,28, Lamim Miah ,15, Md Rakib ,16, Md Hira Miah ,17, Imrul Hasan ,17, Md Sakin Sarkar Rabbi ,18, Md Sujan Miah ,19, Khairul ,19 and Rahat ,19.

Commanding Officer of RAB-1 Lieutenant Colonel Muhammad Mostaq Ahmad revealed this information in a press conference organized at the office of RAB-1 in capital's Uttara area today (February 23).

Mostaq Ahmed said acting on a tip-off, teams of Rab-1 raided several areas including Mohakhali, Banani, Airport, Tongi and Gazipur and arrested them between 7.00pm and 10.00pm on Thursday.

Rab seized 500 grams of Ganja, 24 mobiles, one blade, one axe, one power bank, five rods, 16 knives, three iron chains, one hammer, one motorcycle and cash Taka 24,250 from their possession.
