Australian star Matthew Wade retires from international cricket

Australian cricketer Matthew Wade announced his retirement from international cricket and will take on the role of assistant coach for the national team.


I'm officially retiring," Wade said, according to Cricket Australia.


The 36-year-old wicketkeeper-batsman played 36 Tests and 189 limited-overs matches, contributing significantly to Australia's T20 World Cup victory in 2021.


He will serve as wicket keeping and fielding coach during the upcoming T20 series against Pakistan.


Wade, led Australia in the T20 format from December 2020 to February 2024.
