Bangladesh faces follow-on shame
Bangladesh's batting collapsed once again in the Chattogram test, facing the shame of a follow-on after a disastrous third day. The Tigers struggled to find their form, failing to compete with South Africa in both batting and bowling.
Starting the day at 38 for 4, Bangladesh's top order crumbled further, losing four wickets for just 10 runs. Captain Shanto struggles continued as he was dismissed for 9 runs after being caught by the wicketkeeper off Kagiso Rabada's bowling.
Despite a glimmer of hope from the partnership between Mominul and Taijul Islam, who added some stability, Bangladesh ultimately could not avoid the follow-on.
Mominul was the standout performer with the bat, scoring 82 runs, while Taijul contributed 30 runs before his dismissal.
Rabada was the standout bowler, claiming five wickets and dismantling the Bangladeshi batting line-up, while Dan Patterson and Keshav Maharaj each took two wickets.
Earlier, South Africa declared their innings at a formidable 575 runs for 6 wickets, with Tony De Georgi leading the charge with an impressive 177 runs. Stubbs and Mulder also made significant contributions, scoring 106 and 105 runs, respectively.
