Bangladesh to face Pakistan in T20I series opener today
Bangladesh set to take on hosts Pakistan at 9.00pm (BST) today in the first match of a three-game T20I series at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium.
Captain Litton & Co. aim to recover from their 2-1 series loss to the UAE and end their winless T20I streak on Pakistani soil.
The Tigers are without key pacers Mustafizur Rahman, Taskin Ahmed, and Nahid Rana, leaving Hasan Mahmud, Shoriful Islam, Tanzim Sakib, and Khaled Ahmed to lead the attack.
Newly appointed pace coach Shaun Tait and spin coach Mushtaq Ahmed, both with PSL experience, are expected to bolster the bowling unit.
Pakistan are also missing stars Babar Azam, Mohammad Rizwan, and Shaheen Shah Afridi. Salman Agha will lead the side, with Naseem Shah leading the pace attack.
Bangladesh are hoping to replicate their 2024 Test series win in Pakistan and secure a maiden T20I victory on Pakistani soil.
