Chattogram Test
Bangladesh under pressure despite Taijul's 5-wicket haul
Following their loss in the first Test against South Africa in Mirpur, Bangladesh is now under pressure in the second Test in Chattogram. South Africa, having won the toss and chosen to bat, has already surpassed 400 runs in the first innings.
Beginning the second day with 307 runs for 2 wickets, the South African team lost three wickets in the first session. David Bedingham scored 59 runs, and Tony de Zorzi made 177 runs before returning to the dressing room. Kyle Verreynne did not get on the scoreboard. By the lunch break on the second day, the team stood at 413 runs for 5 wickets, with Ryan Rickelton batting on 11 runs and Wiaan Mulder on 12 runs.
On day 1, Tristan Stubbs was dismissed after scoring 106 runs. Bangladesh's spinner Taijul Islam appears to be battling alone, having taken all five wickets of the South African batsmen dismissed in the first innings.
The Tigers are down 1-0 in the two-match series and need to win this Test to avoid a series loss.
