Bangladesh wins fourth consecutive championship by beating Nepal
Bangladesh clinched their fourth consecutive championship by defeating Nepal at home. In the final match of the tournament, the hosts triumphed over Nepal with a score of 45-31 points.
The final match of the Bangabandhu Cup International Kabaddi Tournament took place on Monday, June 3, at the Shaheed Suhrawardi Indoor Stadium in Mirpur. Bangladesh took an early lead with a score of 1-0. Nepal quickly equalized, hinting at a competitive match. They then took the lead with a score of 2-1. However, the hosts soon regained control, scoring point after point. By halftime, Bangladesh led with a score of 24-10.
Bangladesh's dominance continued after the break. When they managed to all-out their opponents for the second time, the score stood at 29-11.
Towards the end of the match, Bangladesh was all-out once, but Nepal still trailed with a score of 43-28. Despite Nepal's efforts to keep pace with the hosts, they couldn't avoid a substantial defeat, even though they scored more points in the final compared to the group stage.
Previously, Bangladesh had defeated Nepal in the group stage with a score of 46-11.
