The Bangladesh women's cricket team recorded their largest victory margin in One-Day Internationals, defeating Ireland by 154 runs in the first match of a three-game series at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium.

Bangladesh set a target of 253, thanks to Sharmin Akhter’s career-best knock of 96 off 89 balls and solid contributions from Farzana Hoque (61) and Murshida Khatun (38).

Ireland’s chase fell apart as they were bowled out for just 98 in 28.5 overs. Among the Irish batters, Sarah scored 25, Laura Delaney scored 22 and Orla Prendergast contribute 19 runs for the team.

Marufa Akter made early breakthroughs by dismissing key wickets of Gaby Lewis and Amy Hunter, while Sultana Khatun and Nahida Akter each took three wickets to secure the victory for Bangladesh.
