BCB secures Mushtaq’s service for Pakistan series
The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has confirmed that former Pakistani leg-spinner Mushtaq Ahmed will serve as the spin bowling coach for Bangladesh's upcoming series against Pakistan.
Mushtaq, who signed a short-term contract with the BCB in April, impressed the board during his tenure for the T20 World Cup. As a result, the BCB expressed interest in extending his contract.
However, Mushtaq’s new commitment with the England Under-19 team raised questions about his availability. In response, Jalal Yunus, BCB’s Head of Cricket Operations, on Wednesday assured reporters outside the BCB office that Mushtaq will indeed be available for the Pakistan series.
Yunus said, “Mushtaq Ahmed is available for the Pakistan series. However, he has prior commitments and will not be available for the following series until December. We are hopeful to arrange a long-term contract starting in January.”
