Books by Kolkata's poet couple at Ekushey Book Fair
Saikat Ghosh and Pratyusha Sarkar live together, immersed in the world of poetry. Both of them are from West Bengal. However, their individual poetry collections have been published separately at the Amar Ekushey Book Fair. Saikat Ghosh's poetry book "Rangtay Mora Utshab" has been published by the esteemed Bangladeshi publication house 'Oitijhya'. On the flip side, Pratyusha Sarkar's poetry book "Ajkal Shahobat Shikhchhi" has been published by 'Ittyadi Grantho Prakash'.
Although she is a poet, Pratyusha Sarkar has also written a collection of short stories and a novel. She has authored five books of poetry. She was born in Kalyani, West Bengal, India. Currently, she resides in Naihati with her husband. She has completed her postgraduate studies in English literature. Additionally, she holds a Bachelor of Education degree and engages in photography, painting as well as exploring the world of poetry recitation. Although she says that her writing comes suddenly and her inspiration for writing comes from her father. Writing, photography, painting, traveling, cooking as a hobby, and spending time with loved ones all combine to make her life primarily artistic. The poetry collection "Ajkal Shahobat Shikhchhi" contains a total of 56 poems. All of them are written in prose pattern.
Saikat Ghosh is a prolific poet. His first poetry book was published in 2012, and since then, he has released one poetry book every year. Despite studying engineering, he is also a versatile poet. Currently, he is associated with teaching. He has also worked as a filmmaker in the cinema industry. Additionally, he is known as a lyricist. His hobbies include reading books, watching movies, and filmmaking. His loves include the sea, black coffee, and Pratyusha.
It's surprising that there are also 56 poems in the poetry book "Rangtay Mora Utshob." Perhaps, the husband and wife planned and executed this together. Both of their poetry books contain an equal number of poems. Sekhar Ghosh also has written his poems in prose form. He has woven various elements of life into his poetry, including dreams, reality, illusions, light, mirrors, emptiness, and more.
