BRAC, Club 9698 Air Force clinch victory

BRAC Bank Limited defeated Bangladesh Army by 3 wickets in the T40 format of BRAC EPL Stock Brokerage Limited Corporate Amateur Cricket on Friday.

Club 9698 defeated Navy by the same margin while Bangladesh Air Force won by 1 wicket against Cadet XI.

Batting first at BKSP, Army scored 175 runs before being all out in 39.4 overs. The highest innings was 32 runs from the extra wicket. Arifur Rahman Riyad (27), Sohanur Rahman (24), Md. Rafi Uddin (23), Md. Kamrul Hasan (21) enriched the team's innings with runs. Sheikh Abu Sayeed took 4 wickets for 25 runs. Shahriar Islam Sumon and Raju Chowdhury took two wickets each.

In reply, BRAC secured the victory by losing 7 wickets thanks to Touhidul Islam Joy (47), Shahriar Islam Sumon (off 43) and Amit Ghosh Kalyan (31). Shahriar Islam Sumon was named Man of the Match.

In the other match, Navy scored 186 runs before being all out on the back of Rafsan Bulbul's 39, Saimun Islam's 31 and Akifur Rahman's 23 runs. Mohaiminul Islam took 4 wickets for 42 runs. In reply, Club 9698 secured the victory by losing 7 wickets thanks to Ariful Haque's unbeaten 59 runs. Mohaiminul Islam scored 36 and Rashed Osman scored 28 runs not out. Ariful Haque was named Man of the Match.

In another match, Cadet XI, who had come out to bat after losing the toss, were all out for 186 runs. Rafi Fairoz Haque missed out on a century for 3 runs—his innings of 97 were studded with 10 boundaries and 3 sixes. Liam Islam took 4 wickets for 35 runs. In reply, the Air Force secured victory with one over and one wicket in hand, riding on Shezan Ahmed's 47, Raufun Elahi's 42 and Masum Billah's 21 runs. Liam Islam was named Man of the Match.
