BTRC chairman attends Mobile World Congress

Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) Chairman engineer Md Mohiuddin Ahmed is attending the Mobile World Congress-2024 (MWC), the largest international exhibition of the telecommunication sector, being held in the Spanish city of Barcelona.

The Global System for Mobile Communication Association (GSMCA), an organisation of mobile phone operators across the globe, has organised the 4-day congress under the theme of 'Future First' from February 26 to February 29 in Barcelona, famous as the capital of the world mobile market.

This year's congress is scheduled to discuss various innovative issues including 5G and beyond, humanising AI, manufacturing DX, game changers, and our digital DNA.

At the congress, the BTRC chairman held a meeting with the representatives of mobile operator Robi Axiata Limited, Banglalink Digital Communication Limited, telecommunication technology manufacturer Huawei and China Academy of Information and Communication Technology.

He visited the stalls of various telecommunications companies with 5G, artificial intelligence and other high technologies.

Abu Hena Morshed Zaman, secretary to the Post and Telecommunication Division, is also representing Bangladesh at the global conference along with the BTRC chairman.

The Mobile World Congress is the largest event for the global telecommunications connectivity ecosystem. With the largest exhibition of mobile phones and mobile devices, the city of Barcelona has become a gathering place for representatives of regulatory agencies, technology experts, government policymakers and people related to telecommunications companies including global mobile operators, device manufacturers, mobile handset manufacturers, and technology service providers.
