A case has been filed over the Saturday night's incident where an on-duty police constable was shot dead by his colleague in the Gulshan diplomatic area. Mahbubul Alam, brother of the deceased Md Monirul, 27, filed the case with Gulshan Police Station against Kawsar Ahmed on Sunday. Rifat Rahman Shamim, deputy police commissioner (DC) of Gulshan division of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP), confirmed. According to a statement issued by the police, Kawsar opened fire on his colleague Monirul around 11:45pm on Saturday while both were performing duties. CCTV footage obtained from the Palestine Embassy showed that, Monirul and Kawsar were in a heated altercation at around 11:40pm. At one point, Monirul showed Kawsar a duty notebook. Almost instantly, Kawsar started shooting at Monirul. Kawsar fired several more rounds directly at Monirul and later pointed an SMT gun at a vehicle whuch was passing by. Later, police captured Kawsar from the spot early Sunday and shown him arrested in the case. Police produced Kawsar before a Dhaka court and sought a ten-day remand. However, the court has not yet issued any directives, officials concerned said.

রাজধানীর বারিধারার কূটনৈতিক এলাকায় সহকর্মীর গুলিতে কর্তব্যরত পুলিশ কনস্টেবল নিহতের ঘটনায় মামলা হয়েছে। শনিবার (৮ জুন) রাতে এ ঘটনাটি ঘটে। এ ঘটনায় বাদী হয়ে কাওসার আলীকে আসামি করে গুলশান থানায় মামলা করেন নিহতের ভাই মাহবুবুল আলম (২৭)। ঢাকা মেট্রোপলিটন পুলিশের (ডিএমপি) গুলশান বিভাগের উপ-পুলিশ কমিশনার (ডিসি) রিফাত রহমান শামীম এ বিষয়টি নিশ্চিত করেছেন। এ ব্যাপারে পুলিশের এক বিবৃতিতে বলা হয়, শনিবার রাত পৌনে ১১টার দিকে সহকর্মী মনিরুলকে লক্ষ্য করে গুলি ছোড়ে কাওসার। যখন তারা দুজনই দায়িত্ব পালন করছিলেন। ফিলিস্তিনি দূতাবাসের সিসিটিভি ফুটেজে দেখা যায়, রাত ১১টা ৪০ মিনিটের দিকে মনিরুল ও কাওসারের মধ্যে তুমুল বাকবিতণ্ডা হয়। এক পর্যায়ে মনিরুল কাওসারকে একটি ডিউটি নোটবুক দেখান। এর পরপরই কাওসার মনিরুলকে লক্ষ্য করে গুলি ছুড়তে শুরু করে। এ সময় কাওসার মনিরুলকে লক্ষ্য করে আরও কয়েক রাউন্ড গুলি চালায়। পরে রোববার ভোরে পুলিশ ঘটনাস্থল থেকে কাওছারকে আটক করে এবং দায়ের করা মামলায় তাকে গ্রেপ্তার দেখায়।&nbsp; আসামি কাওছারকে ঢাকার আদালতে হাজির করে ১০ দিনের রিমান্ড আবেদন করেছে পুলিশ। তবে আদালত এখনো কোনো নির্দেশনা দেয়নি বলে জানিয়েছেন সংশ্লিষ্ট কর্মকর্তারা। d
