Fratricidal case filed against Transcom CEO Simin
A fratricidal case has been filed against Transcom Group Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Simin Rahman by her younger sister Shajreh Haque.
She filed the murder case with the capital's Gulshan police station on Friday (March 22) accusing Simin and 10 others, said Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Gulshan Division Deputy Police Commissioner Rifat Rahman Shamim.
The younger daughter of late Latifur Rahman, the founder of Transcom Group, has alleged in the case that her elder sister Simin Rahman along with the other accused killed her elder brother Arshad Waliur Rahman by poisoning or suffocating her.
The other defendants in the case are Simin Rahman's son Jaif Ayat Hossain, manager of SKF Pharmaceuticals Dr Murad, SKF Pharmaceuticals Director (Marketing and Sales) Md Mujahidul Islam, Transcom Group Director (Finance) Kamrul Hasan, Legal Officer Md Fakhruzzaman Bhuiyan, Manager (Corporate Affairs) KHM Shahadat Hossain, Transcom Group officials Zahid Hossain and Selina Sultana and group employees Rafiq and Mirazul.
Mentionable, Arshad Waliur Rahman died on June 16 last year at United Hospital in the capital.
Earlier, Shajreh filed a case against her elder sister and her mother Shahnaz Rahman, the current chairman of the group, over a dispute regarding the company's property and shares. Many others were also accused in that case.
