The most terrifying anxiety that people in the world face today is the threat of nuclear war. Whenever there is a dispute among the world's major powers, people become anxious and restless, fearing that a nuclear war might break out. Many understand that nuclear war would mean the extinction of human civilization. The large countries of the world possess such a vast arsenal of nuclear weapons that they could destroy the planet in the blink of an eye. The horrors of nuclear bomb attacks were witnessed during World War II, particularly in Hiroshima and Nagasaki, Japan.

In hopeful news, this year, the Nobel Peace Prize has been awarded to the organization Nihon Hidankyo, which represents survivors of the atomic bombings in Japan, in recognition of its efforts to build public opinion against nuclear weapons globally. According to information received from the media, the name of this year's Nobel Peace Prize winner was announced on Friday (October 11) at 3 PM Bangladesh time by the Nobel Institute in Oslo, Norway.

Nobel Committee Chairman Jørgen Watne Frydnes stated that Nihon Hidankyo has been working for many years to build public opinion against the use of nuclear weapons. To this end, survivors of the bombings and witnesses continue to share their harrowing experiences, highlighting the horrors of nuclear warfare to the world. He noted that this organization has played a significant role in establishing the notion that nuclear weapons are a forbidden issue.

The Nobel Peace Prize often faces criticism each year, as it is sometimes used for political purposes. The committee has come under severe scrutiny for awarding the prize to figures like Henry Kissinger. This year, awarding the Nobel Peace Prize was particularly challenging due to the clear polarization observed in the current world. Tensions are escalating between Russia and the West, especially in light of the Russia-Ukraine war, and the Middle East is becoming unstable due to fears of conflict between Iran and Israel. During such times, there were concerns about whom to award the Peace Prize and what criticisms the committee might face.

Ultimately, it can be said that the announcement of the award was timely and appropriate. At a time when the world is engulfed in the turmoil of potential new wars, this prize has been awarded to an organization that has long been a victim of the horrors of nuclear weapons and has actively worked against them.

We also hope that this message of peace spreads across the globe. It is time for the major powers of the world to awaken to the reality of the situation, so they do not drive humankind into madness with the fear of nuclear war. We aspire for a world free of nuclear weapons.
