From the middle of March, there were occasional showers, but intense heat has started since the first week of April. The Meteorological Department has informed that the temperature will rise further in the second week of April. With the decrease in humidity in the air, the intensity of the dry wind will increase. In the midst of this, Eid is approaching. From a week ago, many people in Dhaka have begun to return home. People are returning home from other cities as well. During this time, countless people have to spend the whole day on the road. Besides Eid shopping, there are other reasons too for leaving home. The intense heat during this time is not only causing discomfort but may also contribute to illness.

Therefore, during the Eid journey, make sure to take extra precautions. Especially, take extra care of children and elderly family members. Many people may travel long distances while fasting. In such cases, it is essential to carry an adequate amount of water. Also, exercise extra caution during Sehri and Iftar meals. Consume less fried food and opt for more cool, soft, and liquid-based foods.

Another major inconvenience during the Eid journey is sudden intense traffic on the highways. Make efforts to navigate through the traffic jams. If you need to travel somewhere far, it's better to start the journey early in the morning. Another issue to consider is that for several years, there have been many reports of accidents during Eid. Let's all strive to avoid such incidents. Instead of rushing ourselves, let's not pressurize the drivers. If necessary, remind the drivers to operate the vehicle safely.

The weather is also unpredictable. Just as the intense heat can increase suddenly, sudden storms or heavy rains can also occur. Therefore, it is essential to remain cautious. Getting wet in the rain during this time can lead to sudden colds or fevers. So, ensure the safety of children during this time.
