Mobile networks in nine coastal districts have been significantly impacted by the strong Cyclone Remal, says a press release sent to media by the Association of Mobile Telecom Operators of Bangladesh (AMTOB). Due to disruptions in the electricity supply, approximately 15,000 sites are currently down in these areas. Mobile Networking Operators are closely working with the Power authorities, Posts and Telecommunications Division and the Bangladesh&nbsp;Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) to restore the network as quickly as possible.

শক্তিশালী ঘূর্ণিঝড় রিমলের আঘাতে উপকূলীয় নয় জেলার মোবাইল নেটওয়ার্ক উল্লেখযোগ্যভাবে ক্ষতিগ্রস্ত হয়েছে। অ্যাসোসিয়েশন অব মোবাইল টেলিকম অপারেটরস অব বাংলাদেশের পক্ষ থেকে গণমাধ্যমে পাঠানো এক প্রেস বিজ্ঞপ্তিতে এ তথ্য জানানো হয়েছে। এতে আরও বলা হয়, মোবাইল নেটওর্য়াক দ্রুত ফিরিয়ে আনতে বিদ্যুৎ কর্তৃপক্ষ, ডাক ও টেলিযোগাযোগ বিভাগ এবং বাংলাদেশ টেলিযোগাযোগ নিয়ন্ত্রণ কমিশনের (বিটিআরসি) সাথে নিবিড়ভাবে কাজ করছে মোবাইল অপারেটররা। যত দ্রুত সম্ভব নেটওয়ার্ক সচল করতে চেস্টা করছে টেলিযোগাযোগ নিয়ন্ত্রণ কমিশন (বিটিআরসি)ও। প্রেস বিজ্ঞপ্তির মাধ্যমে জানা যায়, ঘূর্ণিঝড়ের প্রভাবে বিদ্যুৎ সরবরাহ বিঘ্নিত হওয়ার কারণে এসব এলাকায় প্রায় ১৫ হাজার মোবাইল সাইট বর্তমানে বন্ধ রয়েছে।
