NEC approves RADP worth Tk2,45,000cr

The volume of the Revised Annual Development Programme (RADP) for the current financial year has been reduced by Tk 18,000 crore to Tk 2,45,000 crore. The original ADP was worth Tk 2,63,000 crore.

In the revised ADP, the foreign share has been reduced by Tk 10,500 crore and the share of the government has been reduced by Tk 7,000 crore.

However, the number of projects in the revised ADP has increased to 1,580, from 1,340 projects in the original ADP.

The RADP was approved by Prime Minister and National Economic Council (NEC) Chairperson Sheikh Hasina at a NEC meeting held at the council’s Sherbangla Nagar office in the capital on Tuesday (March 12).

Earlier, the revised ADP was finalised in an extended meeting of the Planning Commission on February 25. After the meeting, Planning Minister Abdus Salam, State Minister for Planning Shahiduzzaman Sarkar and Secretary to Planning Ministry Satyajit Karmakar presented the details of the meeting to the journalists.

Out of the total allocation of the revised ADP of the current financial year, Tk 2,23,553 crore are being allocated for projects under 15 sectors. Apart from this, the total allocation for nine development assistance sectors is Tk 3,390 crore and Tk 18,056.97 crore for special needs of development assistance sectors. As a result, the total allocation stands at Tk 2,45,000 crore.

Apart from this amount, Tk 9,391.64 crore is being allocated for the projects under implementation by various autonomous organisations and corporations. So, the total revised ADP will be Tk 2,54,391.64 crore.

Out of this government allocation is Tk 1,69,702 crore and foreign aid is Tk 84,689.48 crore.

In the NEC meeting, among the 58 ministries and directorates, the allocation to 36 ministries and directorates has decreased in the revised ADP in terms of government funds. The allocation to two ministries remains unchanged and the allocation to 20 ministries and directorates has increased.
