Priyanka Gandhi voices concern over arrest of Chinmoy and violence against Hindus
In response to the news of the arrest of Chinmoy Krishna Das and the persecution of Sanatan Hindus, India's recently elected Member of Parliament, Priyanka Gandhi, has commented on the issue.
She responded to the situation in Bangladesh on her X (formerly Twitter) handle.
She wrote, "The arrest of Chinmoy Krishna Das and the ongoing violence against minority Hindus is extremely concerning."
She further stated, "I appeal to the central government to intervene on this matter and raise the issue of ensuring the safety of minorities forcefully with the Bangladesh government."
The arrest of Chinmoy Krishna Das, a leader of the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) and spokesperson for the Bangladesh United Sanatan Hindu Awakening Alliance, and the denial of his bail, led to a clash in the Chattogram court area on Tuesday (November 26). During the clash, lawyer Saiful Islam was hacked to death. This incident has sparked widespread discussion and criticism over the past few days.
