The second and final Test between Bangladesh and South Africa began on Tuesday at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram. After winning the toss, South Africa chose to bat and ended Day 1 in a strong position, firmly in the driver’s seat.

Captain Aiden Markram and Tony de Zorzi established a 69-run opening partnership before Markram was dismissed for 33. De Zorzi then paired with No. 3 batter Tristan Stubbs, putting together an impressive 201-run stand for the second wicket. Stubbs contributed a superb 106 before his departure.

De Zorzi remained firm after Stubbs’ departure, pairing with David Bedingham to close the day. South Africa ended the day at 307 for 2, with de Zorzi unbeaten at 141 and Bedingham on 18.

Taijul Islam took both wickets for Bangladesh. The Tigers are down 1-0 in the two-match series and must win this Test to avoid a series whitewash.
