Team Forward panel sweeps ISPAB election

The Team Forward panel secured a landslide victory in the executive council election of Internet Service Providers Association of Bangladesh (ISPAB) for 2024-26 term.

The election was held amid much fanfare and festivity yesterday (March 16) at the Bangabandhu International Conference Centre in the capital.

Eight out of nine director candidates of the Team Forward panel won in the general category.

Nazmul Karim Bhuiyan of KS Network got 204 votes while Md Imdadul Haque of Optimax Communication Limited got 199 votes.

SM Zakir Hossain of Unified Core Ltd got 186 votes, Circle Network's Mahbub Alam (Raju) 168 votes, Md Asaduzzaman (Sujan) of Antrang.com 156 votes, Mohammad A Qaiyum Rashed of Triangle Services Ltd 148 votes, Md Anwarul Azim of Chittagong Telecom Service Ltd 147 votes and Sakif Ahmed of Infolink Limited got 120 votes.

As an independent candidate, Sabbir Ahmed of EXord Online won in the general category with 128 votes.

Four candidates from the Team Forward panel won in the associate category. The winners are Fuad Muhammad Sharfuddin of Fisa Communication with 347 votes, Md Nashir Uddin of Speed Tech Online with 344 votes, Sun Online's Mohammad Anwar Hossain with 310 votes and Md Mahamudul Hasan (Arif) of The T Network with 296 votes.

In the elections, 636 out of 756 votes were cast in the associate category and 222 out of 248 votes were cast in the general category.

Mentionable, ISPAB has 399 general and 1,604 associate members.

Among them, the general category has 250 voters. In the general category, there were 14 candidates for nine posts in the election.

On the other hand, there were 11 candidates against four posts in the associate category. The posts of the Executive Council (EC) will be distributed on March 18 (Sunday) among the 13 elected members.
