No alternative to professionalism in sports management
The recent crisis in Bangladesh women’s football (which is yet to be fully resolved) is a direct result of management failures. Had the issue been handled properly from the beginning, the situation would not have deteriorated to such an extent. The unrest within women’s football, along with the ensuing discussions and criticisms, could have been avoided. Our women footballers have won a place in our hearts and opened our eyes to new possibilities. Unfortunately, the media sometimes becomes an obstacle to proper management due to various shortcomings. The media in our country has yet to break free from certain outdated practices.
