Warning signal number 3 for sea ports

Deep convective clouds continue to form over the Bay of Bengal due to monsoonal weather. In this situation, the Meteorological Office has asked to show local warning signal No. 3 in four sea ports of the country, says a weather bulletin of Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) on Thursday (August 1) afternoon.

The bulletin said under the influence of active monsoon, deep convective clouds continue to form over North Bay of Bengal. Gusty winds may blow over North Bay of Bengal, coastal areas of Bangladesh and sea ports.

Chattogram, Cox's Bazar, Mongla and Payra sea ports have been asked to display local warning signal number 3.

Fishing boats and trawlers operating in Northern Bay of Bengal have been asked to proceed cautiously close to the coast until further notice.

Earlier on Thursday (August 1) morning, 12 regions of the country experienced rain with gusty winds or rain with thunder.
