Endrick to stay at Real Madrid as Mourinho plans key role

Recent speculation had suggested that Real Madrid might send Endrick out on another loan, but experienced coach Jose Mourinho has placed his trust in the Brazilian forward.

Ahead of the 2026-27 season, Real Madrid's position is now clear: the club does not want to entertain any transfer talks regarding Endrick. Although the European transfer window remains open until September 1, the Spanish giants are currently not pursuing any plan to send the Brazilian forward elsewhere. Instead, they are planning to keep him and give him opportunities throughout the season.

The Portuguese coach is also satisfied with Endrick's performances in training. Mourinho wants to use him not only as a main striker but also on the right wing when needed.

Spanish media outlet Marca has reported that there is now full confidence in Endrick at Real Madrid. The club believes that this season could be the time for him to establish himself as a Real star. Endrick will have to compete with Kylian Mbappe, Vinicius Junior, Carlos Espi, Arda Guler and Brahim Diaz in attack. However, the coaching staff and club authorities see opportunities to use him as an important player.

Real Madrid has also dismissed recent speculation about sending Endrick out on loan again. Marca claims that unless the player himself requests a move, the club has no plans to loan him out. Endrick has also been given the number 9 shirt for the new season, sending a clear signal about his position in the club's plans.

However, the situation was not so positive just a few days ago. Last January, Endrick had to go on loan to Lyon in France due to a lack of regular playing time. Under coach Xabi Alonso, he was not getting enough minutes at Real Madrid. With the World Cup approaching, he needed regular game time, and after moving to Lyon, he regained his form.

In 21 matches for Lyon, with 19 starts, Endrick scored eight goals and provided seven assists. That performance has now had a significant impact on Real Madrid's evaluation of him.
