A group of engineers have held a human chain in the capital demanding trial of Dr. Muhammad Yunus over the deaths of children due to measles.

The program was organized under the banner of ‘Conscious Engineers Society’ in front of the National Press Club in the capital on Monday (May 18).

The engineers participating in the human chain alleged that due to Dr. Muhammad Yunus’ ‘negligent decision’, a large number of children in the country have been infected with measles and many children have died.

The speakers demanded that the deaths of more than 500 children and the infection of more than 60,000 children in the country should be investigated properly and those responsible should be brought to justice. At the same time, they also demanded the cancellation of the ‘US Slavery Agreement’.

According to the protesters, such agreements are against the national interest of the country.

The speakers at the human chain said that there is no room for policymakers to evade responsibility for the country's health sector crisis and the premature deaths of children.

They protested by displaying banners and portraits of Dr. Muhammad Yunus.

The participants in the program said that as conscious citizens of the country, the engineering community will remain vocal against any national crisis and injustice. If the demands are not met, more stringent programs will be announced in the future.
