The International Cricket Council (ICC) has finalised the groupings for the 2027 ODI World Cup. Bangladesh has been placed in Group 'B'. In this group, Bangladesh's companions are England, South Africa, New Zealand and Sri Lanka. Along with them, another team coming through the qualifiers will be added.

The 2027 ODI World Cup will be held jointly in South Africa, Zimbabwe and Namibia. In this edition, arch-rivals India and Pakistan have been placed in Group 'A'. Along with them in this group are Australia, Afghanistan and Zimbabwe. A team coming through the qualifiers will also be added to Group 'A'.

Hosts South Africa and Zimbabwe, along with the top eight teams based on rankings, have secured direct entry to the World Cup. The other host, Namibia, will have to play the qualifiers as they are not a full member of the ICC.

One team from the 10-team qualifiers will secure a place directly in the World Cup group stage. Another team will come from the 'Super Series' under the new structure.

The number of teams in the next World Cup has been increased from 10 to 14. However, not all teams will get a place directly in the main group stage. Under the new structure, a 'Super Series' will be held among the three teams finishing second, third and fourth in the qualifiers and the three teams ranked 12th, 13th and 14th in the rankings. One team from this phase will secure a place in the main group stage.

In the group stage, 12 teams will be divided into two groups. Each team will play five matches. A total of seven teams — the top three from each of the two groups and the next highest-placed team across the two groups — will make up the 'Super Seven' phase.

After the Super Seven phase, the top four teams will play in the semi-finals. The two semi-final winners will then face each other in the final.
