Extradition request for Sheikh Hasina being examined: Randhir Jaiswal
India has said it is examining Bangladesh's request for the extradition of former prime minister Sheikh Hasina in light of legal and judicial processes.
During a regular press briefing in New Delhi on Friday, July 17, Ministry of External Affairs Spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal responded to a question about whether Bangladesh had renewed its request for the extradition of Hasina and other accused.
"We have received a request for extradition. As I have said before, it is being examined," Jaiswal said. "The request will be considered in the light of the relevant legal and judicial processes."
When asked about another extradition request from Bangladesh concerning a political murder case, Jaiswal said he did not have information about that specific case but reiterated that all extradition requests are considered following relevant laws and judicial processes.
