Facebook goes down again, users report widespread access issues
Social media platform Facebook suffered another service disruption on Sunday (July 19), with users in Bangladesh and several other regions reporting difficulties accessing their accounts just over a month after Meta's last major outage.
The disruption began shortly after 1:30pm, when many users were unable to load their news feeds. Instead, they were shown a message stating that their "account is temporarily unavailable" due to a site-related issue, with a recommendation to try again after a few minutes.
Outage-tracking platforms, including Downdetector, IsDown, NordVPN and Down for Everyone, also recorded a surge in reports indicating a possible Facebook service outage.
The latest disruption comes after a widespread outage on June 12, when several Meta platforms—including Facebook, WhatsApp and Instagram—experienced service interruptions before being restored about an hour later.
Meta had not immediately commented on the cause of Sunday's disruption.
