Italy-based footballer Fahamedul Islam arrived in Dhaka this morning to join the Bangladesh national team ahead of their upcoming international fixtures — a friendly match against Bhutan and a crucial Asian Cup Qualifier against Singapore.

The 18-year-old winger landed at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport around 9:00am, receiving a warm welcome from the Bangladeshi Football Ultras fan group. His arrival marks the first among three foreign-born players expected to join the squad for this international window.

British-Bangladeshi midfielder Hamza Choudhury is scheduled to arrive on June 2, while Canada-based Shamit Shome is expected in Dhaka on June 4 — the same day Bangladesh will face Bhutan in the friendly match.

Fahamedul had earlier joined the national team's camp in Saudi Arabia in March ahead of Bangladesh's first match against India at the coach's behest, but was later withdrawn and sent back to Italy by the coach himself.

Bangladesh team is expected to be announced tomorrow and start training the following day.
