Fahmida Nabi returns with new digital album 'E Shohorer Gaan'

Singer, lyricist and composer Fahmida Nabi is set to release her new digital album "E Shohorer Gaan," featuring six original songs. The album will be released on YouTube as well as in digital CD format, with the songs also made available on the YouTube channel "Gaan Janala," the artiste said.

All six tracks were written by Golam Morshed. Three of the tunes were composed by Shams Sumon, while the remaining three were composed by Labu Rahman, Tamal and Sajib Das.

Fahmida Nabi said work on the music videos for all the songs was completed by August 5, with the videos co-directed by herself and Ashik.

Explaining her decision to release a digital CD in an era dominated by streaming, Fahmida Nabi said that while new songs today are released almost exclusively on YouTube, she still holds onto the excitement and anticipation that once surrounded cassette and CD releases.

To preserve that feeling, she chose to release the album on digital CD alongside YouTube, giving listeners who wish to the chance to add the songs to their own collection.

Praising the writing and composition on the album, she said every song carries genuine emotional depth, adding that she believes listeners will connect with the tracks. She expressed gratitude to the lyricist, composers and everyone who worked behind the scenes on the project.

Shams Sumon, who composed three of the album's songs, said he never imagined an artiste of Fahmida Nabi's stature would choose to record three of his compositions, calling it a major milestone in his career.

He said he was optimistic not just about his own contributions, but about the album as a whole.
