Fiber@Home emerges as Fiber@Home Global Ltd.(FGL) on 14th anniversary
Fiber@Home, the largest private sector ITC(International Terrestrial Cable) and IIG(International Internet Gateway) operator in Bangladesh, has embarked on a new brand identity Fiber@Home Global Ltd.(FGL) on its 14th anniversary.
On this occasion, the company hosted a special dinner to honor its partners at a city hotel on Wednesday, July 15. During the event, a new logo for Fiber@Home Global Ltd. (FGL) was revealed.
In his address, Fiber@Home Global Ltd. (FGL) Chairman Moynul Haque Siddiqui stated: "This event serves as a gathering of my close friends. I extend my gratitude to Nokia for their support of Fiber@Home. This rebranding will open up new opportunities in video streaming, digital entertainment, and online content distribution within OTT services. Furthermore, the introduction of CDN technology will enable faster, more stable, and lower-latency delivery of domestic and international websites, applications, and digital content to users. Consequently, this will not only enhance the customer experience but also further strengthen the country's digital infrastructure."

FGL Managing Director Rafiqur Rahman, psc (retd), and DMD Sumon Ahmed Sabir also addressed the attendees.

FGL is primarily a leading provider of International Internet Gateway (IIG) and International Terrestrial Cable (ITC) services in Bangladesh. They are dedicated to providing global connectivity or internet access to telecom operators, IIGs, and broadband service providers. Additionally, they are offering infrastructural support for the installation of local gateways for the satellite internet service provider 'Starlink'.
Fiber@Home Global Limited mainly performs the following main functions:
IIG Service: Provides uninterrupted and high-speed internet bandwidth throughout the country as an international internet gateway.
ITC Service: Creates and maintains digital communication paths between Bangladesh and other countries of the world through international terrestrial cables.
Starlink Infrastructure Support: Establishes connections between Starlink satellite internet ground stations and data centers in Bangladesh.
Network Operation Center (NOC): They have a dedicated 24/7 Network Operation Center to ensure uninterrupted internet services.
Leading partners of the country's IT sector, corporate representatives, domestic and foreign affiliates and relevant individuals were also present at the event. At this time, the company's new brand identity, global expansion plans, future technological innovations and upcoming OTT and CDN services were outlined.
The decision to rebrand has been taken keeping in mind the continuity of 14 years of leadership in the ITC and IIG sectors. The company has set a goal to expand its operations internationally as well as domestically through the new identity.
The event outlined Fiber at Home's global expansion plans, future technological innovations, and new over-the-top (OTT) and content delivery network (CDN) services.
