France winger Michael Olise will head into the FIFA World Cup 2026 quarterfinal against Morocco under suspension threat after FIFA rejected France's appeal to overturn the yellow card he received in the Round of 16.

The decision means Olise will carry the booking into Thursday's last-eight clash. If he is shown another yellow card against Morocco and France advance to the semifinals, the 23-year-old will be suspended for the next match.

Speaking at Wednesday's pre-match press conference, France's head coach confirmed FIFA's verdict.

"There has been no change regarding Olise's yellow card. FIFA informed us that the booking will stand," he said.

As a result, Olise must tread carefully against Morocco. A second caution would rule him out of a potential semifinal against the winner of the Spain–Belgium quarterfinal, should France progress.

Olise has been one of France's key attacking players throughout the tournament, making the booking a significant concern for Les Bleus as they bid for another World Cup semifinal appearance.
