Fifty off 19 balls, HP blows away Malaysia in Jisan's storm
Bangladesh High Performance (HP) team easily defeated Malaysia thanks to a whirlwind batting display by Jisan Alam. Chasing a target of 106 runs set by Malaysia in the final match of the two-match T20 series, Bangladesh surpassed it in just 7.4 overs. With this victory, the HP team secured the series 2-0.
Winning the toss and batting first at Mirpur, Malaysia fell under pressure right at the start, losing both openers for 19 runs. Syed Aziz and Ahmad Akil somewhat steadied the team by building a 58-run partnership for the third wicket. However, following their departures, Malaysia failed to post a large total, finishing their 20 overs at 4 and 105 runs.
For Malaysia, Syed Aziz scored 40 runs off 52 balls, and Ahmad Akil made 30 runs off 33 balls. For Bangladesh, Mohammad Rubel, Rakibul Hasan, and Abu Hider took one wicket each.
In reply, Bangladesh's two openers batted aggressively from the very beginning. Although Jawad Abrar returned after scoring 23 runs off 8 balls, the match quickly became one-sided due to Jisan Alam's batting.
Jisan completed his fifty in just 19 balls. He remained unbeaten on 57 runs off 21 balls at the end, featuring 2 fours and 7 sixes in his innings. Powered by his destructive batting, Bangladesh chased down 106 runs in just 7.4 overs with the loss of 3 wickets.
For his brilliant innings, Jisan Alam also received the Man of the Match award.
Having concluded the T20 series, the Bangladesh HP team will now prepare for the ODI series. The first match of the three-match ODI series will take place the day after tomorrow at the Bashundhara Sports Complex.
