Final voter list for BCB election published

The Election Commission has published the final voter list for the upcoming Board of Directors election of the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB). The list includes 191 councillors. The polling is scheduled to be held on October 6.

Although not included in the preliminary list, councillors from 15 clubs in Dhaka have been included in the final list.

The three-member Election Commission, headed by Chief Election Commissioner Mohammad Hossain, held a virtual meeting today. Following the meeting, the final list of voters was published.

Earlier, the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) had cited several irregularities under investigation as the reason for not including the 15 clubs in the final list. The clubs that have now regained their councillorship are: Exum Cricketers, Dhaka Cricket Academy, Mohammad Cricket Club, Nawabganj Cricket Coaching Academy, Purbachal Sporting Club, Gulshan Cricket Club, Old Dhaka Cricketers, Vikings Cricket Academy, Banani Cricket Club, Nakhalpara Cricketers, Mohakhali Cricket Academy, Dhanmondi Cricket Club, Pacific Cricket Club, Sapphire Sporting Club and Alpha Sporting Club.

In addition, councillorships of five districts — Sylhet, Bogura, Pabna, Sirajganj and Naogaon — have been approved. However, the councillorship of Narsingdi district has been left vacant in the final list, just as it was in the draft list published on September 23.
