FIR against Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone over car endorsement
Bollywood actors Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone have been named in a fraud case filed in Rajasthan’s Bharatpur district over their endorsement of a car brand allegedly linked to a defective vehicle.
The complaint, filed by local lawyer Kirti Singh, accuses the car manufacturer—and its celebrity brand ambassadors—of misleading advertising. Singh claims he purchased a vehicle from the company in 2022, paying ₹51,000 as an advance and financing the remainder through a loan. Soon after the purchase, the car reportedly developed multiple mechanical issues, including a serious defect in the accelerator that posed a safety risk.
Despite repeated complaints, Singh alleges that no action was taken by the manufacturer, leading him to file a case against eight individuals, including Shah Rukh and Deepika, who had promoted the vehicle in advertisements.
The case is currently being investigated by the Mathura Gate police station in Bharatpur. No official statements have been released yet by either of the actors or their representatives.
